Montelukast 10mg + Fexofenadine 120mg (Carelukast-FX)

Carelukast-FX brings together two complementary mechanisms in one tablet. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks cysteinyl leukotriene receptors (CysLT1) in the airways and nasal passages, preventing leukotriene-driven inflammation, mucus secretion, and airway narrowing. Fexofenadine is a second-generation H1-antihistamine that competitively blocks peripheral histamine receptors, controlling histamine-mediated symptoms like itching, nasal congestion, and vasodilation.

Because the two drugs act on different allergic pathways, the combination offers more complete symptom coverage than either ingredient alone — useful for patients experiencing multiple overlapping allergy symptoms such as seasonal/perennial allergic rhinitis, hay fever, and chronic urticaria (hives). The tablet is generally taken once daily, with or without food, and should be swallowed whole with water rather than chewed or crushed. It should not be taken with fruit juices such as apple, orange, or grapefruit, as these can reduce absorption, and antacids containing aluminum or magnesium hydroxide should be avoided within 15 minutes of dosing.
