Description
a large container operated by electricity, with a lid that opens at the top, that stores food at a very cold temperature so that it freezes and can be kept safely for a long time: In the basement was a big chest freezer filled with food. There are lots of pizzas in the chest freezer.Cold air stays low inside a chest freezer when the door is open and doesn't escape as quickly as it does from upright freezers. Compared to other types of freezers, chest freezers are less likely to cause freezer burn. One beneficial feature of chest freezers is the manual defrost drain.
