Car Wash Effluent Treatment Plant

The scope of this Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is aimed toward automobile service station wastewater and to treat the resultant wastewater for possible reuse.An Effluent Treatment plant is a unit plat where using multiple methods wastewater is treated for its reuse or safe disposal to the environment. This process reduces the demand of fresh water while keeping environment clean.The effluent bears large amounts of organic matter. The direct discharge of the effluent into the water bodies causes depletion of DO of the water. Hence, in order to meet the recommended standards of quality of the effluent, it is necessary to treat the effluent before it is finally disposed off.The most important features of carwash wastewater for human health are heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls and surfactants, which should be considered. This study can be considered as a comprehensive research in the future of carwash wastewater.
