Description

The Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance-Tester (ESCR) checks how long plastics, rubber and polymers last under severe surroundings. The unit holds an induction motor that drives a stirrer to keep the bath evenly mixed. The inner tank measures 12 inches by 14 inches by 12 inches and is built from stainless steel so it resists rust - the outer shell is mild steel coated with powder for strength. A PID digital controller sets the heat output to match the bath demand. The kit supplies a cutting die nicking jig bending plus transfer tool, specimen holder and test tools so the operator can run a full test. The rig copies the cracks that appear when humidity, chemicals and tensile pull act on the sample but also manufacturers use the data to judge if the material will survive.
