Heat Stress Measurements: WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature): The core measurement used to assess heat stress, considering air temperature, humidity, wind speed, and radiant heat. TWL (Thermal Work Limit): A measure of the maximum amount of heat a person can dissipate, taking into account environmental conditions and clothing. Naturally Aspirated Wet Bulb Temperature: Calculated from on-board digital sensors, providing a measurement without the need for a wet bulb cloth or setup. Heat Load Index (HLI) and Accumulated Heat Load Units (AHLU): These are specific to certain versions of the Kestrel 5400, used in livestock and agriculture applications. Other Measurements: Ambient Temperature: Accuracy of 0.9 F (0.5 C), with a range of -20.0 to 158.0 F (-29.0 to 70.0 C). Relative Humidity: Accuracy of 2% RH, with a range of 10 to 90% at 25C (non-condensing). Airflow: A minimum of 2.2 mph (1 m/s) is recommended for accurate readings and to minimize the effects of sunlight. Wind Speed: Measures current, average, and maximum wind speeds. Globe Temperature: Measures the temperature of a black globe, reflecting radiant heat from the environment. Altitude and Pressure Trend: Provides information on altitude and changes in barometric pressure. Dewpoint, Wet Bulb Temperature, and Density Altitude: Calculated from temperature and humidity measurements.
