Description

The VAS Series is manufactured by Kromschröder (part of the Honeywell Thermal Solutions family). It is a modular, high-performance gas solenoid valve belonging to the valVario family, widely used for safeguarding and controlling gas and air supplies in industrial burners. 1. Key Characteristics Design: Modular system. The valve body can be customized with different flanges, pressure switches, and indicators. Safety Rating: Class A, Group 2 safety shut-off valve according to EN 161. Voltage: 230V AC (standard), 120V AC, or 24V DC. Housing: Die-cast aluminum. 2. Model Breakdown (Type Code) The model name tells you exactly how the valve is configured: VAS 1–3: Indicates the body size (Size 1, 2, or 3). 10–65: Indicates the nominal diameter (DN) of the connection. R or N: R for Rp internal thread; N for NPT internal thread. Opening Behavior: /N: Quick Opening (< 1 second). /L: Slow Opening (adjustable up to 10 or 30 seconds). Voltage Code: W (230V AC), Q (120V AC), K (24V DC). S: Includes a Proof of Closure Switch (PCS) and visual position indicator. 3. Technical Specifications Feature Specification Max. Inlet Pressure ($P_e$) 500 mbar (7 psig) Ambient Temperature -20°C to +60°C Media Natural gas, LPG, Biogas, and Air Closing Time < 1 second (Fail-safe) Flow Adjustment Integrated manual flow limit (standard on most models) Protection Class IP65 Duty Cycle 100% ED (Continuous operation) 4. Why Use VAS? Compact Modular Design: You can bolt a pressure switch (DG) directly to the side of the valve body without extra piping. Double Valve Option (VCS): Two VAS valves can be joined to create a VCS Double Solenoid Valve, which is a requirement for many safety codes to provide "block and bleed" functionality. Visual Feedback: Features a blue LED to indicate when the valve is energized and optional mechanical indicators to show the internal seat position. High Duty Cycle: Specifically designed for burners that cycle on and off frequently. 5. Common Sizes VAS 115 (1/2") VAS 125 (1") VAS 240 (1 1/2") VAS 350 (2")
